Michael Starrett focuses his practice on criminal law and divorce.

Criminal Defense. Michael’s ability to defend clients charged with a crime is strengthened by his experience as a criminal prosecutor. In his criminal defense practice, Michael is a skilled advocate in felony and misdemeanor cases, with an emphasis on DUI and traffic violations, property crimes, firearm offenses, violent crimes, orders of protection, and drug possession and trafficking.

Family Law. In his divorce and family law practice, Michael offers committed representation in a wide variety of disputes, including legal separation, temporary orders, orders of protection, child support, child custody (including parental decision-making, parenting time, visitation, and relocation), spousal maintenance, paternity determination, and property settlement (including division of assets and debts). He also assists parents in adoption, name changes, guardianship, and juvenile law matters.

The Chicago native earned his bachelor's degree at Western Illinois University and his law degree at the ASU Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law.

While in law school, he served as a judicial clerk to Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Jose Padilla.
